"I think I'll go back to college," said Bill one day, sitting at his typewriter. "Get that Masters Degree in English like I always wanted."  (scroll down to read more)
"What does a Masters in English entail?" asked Sonya, laid back in the recliner, watching TV with Bandit the Cat.

"Hmm," said Bill. "I suppose it involves the analysis of literature, literary conventions and traditions, and developments in contemporary lit theory. You read lots of fiction, non-fiction, and textbooks, listen to the professors, take notes, and finally, try to synthesize it all into some original writing of your own, which eventually gets published somewhere."

"Well, while you're deciding if you want to go back to college, why don't you do all that stuff now?"

"Maybe I will," said Bill. "Maybe I will."
So, next time you are downtown, swing by Bill Ectric's place. Have cup of coffee or a cocktail. Read a book, buy a book,  talk about books, and maybe even get booked, if the thought police get shook.

Hang out with authors and artists, reporters and radicals, columnists and characters, poets and punks, musicians and more . . .

Bill and Sonya live upstairs. At closing time, you don't have
to go home, but you can't stay here!
